13.01.2025 – On tracks with TRAX
The BDA Hessen’s “Trax” trainee program offers committed graduates of an architecture degree qualified further training and professional orientation in the architectural office.
Zvonko Turkali Architects regularly offer places for trainees. Prof. Zvonko Turkali is a founding member of the Trax e.V. organization: “Theory is one thing, practice is another. As an architectural firm that has been on the market since 1988, it is important to us that we prepare future architects as best as possible for their everyday working lives.” Trax should also motivate people to pursue a master’s degree after completing their bachelor’s degree.
The positive feedback from interns reflects the success of the program: “I think the Trax internship is a good idea because it is a perfect opportunity to get a proper entry into the working world after your very theoretical studies. The combination of working days in the office and workshop phases offer a comprehensive insight in which you learn that architecture is more than just architecture,” says TRAX graduate Alessia Zwaer.
The insights that the young trainees can gather are always surprising. Graduate Janet Weber: “What I didn’t know before my internship is that the smallest details, like door handles or light switches, can influence the overall appearance of a building. I also didn’t know how regularly the construction sites are checked by architects to make sure everything is going according to plan.”
