The Süwag Energie Arena, formerly a ball sports hall, was designed for international competitions as well as for school sports and training. 5,000 grandstand seats on the four sides of the field form an auditorium that is spanned by a light, delicate steel structure.

The shape of the building is developed from the cross section. The stands rising from the ground and the supporting structure of the roof form an ellipse in cross section and therefore in side views. The hall opens onto the public space across the long side. On this side, the stand is raised off the ground and provides an unobstructed view of the interior.
