The building is a solitary building. The treatment of the facade strengthens its calm and at the same time unmistakable appearance. The facade combines two floors and shows a vertical emphasis. As a result, the building reduces its “speed” precisely at the transition to the train station – it comes to a standstill and appears balanced. The vertical emphasis of the building facades of the neighboring buildings along Arnulf-Klett-Platz is adopted. The two-story facade structure supports the cubature of the house.
The house is also part of the ensemble of buildings facing the train station and the buildings facing the castle park. Towards the train station, the building develops a powerful and at the same time relaxed gesture. The uses planned for the ground floor, such as a café, bakery, etc., enliven the public space. The office units are accessed at two points along Königstrasse. They are roofed, inviting and generously sized.
The flexibility of use supports the sustainable concept of the building being revitalized. Shops are planned for use on the ground floor and on the front sides of the first floor. In our planning we have identified an office use in the middle area of the first floor. Of course, this area can also be used for retail purposes. Office space is planned on the levels above. Additional usable areas have been activated in the first basement floor. These are suitable for a food market, a gallery, etc. The premises have direct access and an address to Arnulf-Klett-Platz.
