The house of the Evangelical Church stands in a very prominent location in downtown Wiesbaden. It was built in the 1960s in the immediate vicinity of the former city palace, now the seat of the Hessian state parliament, the city’s town hall, which was built in the style of the German Renaissance, and the neo-Gothic market church, which also belongs to the community.
The special features of the listed building are its delicate facade, developed in the modernist style, and the Friedrich Naumann Hall, which is visible from afar and is located on the first and second floors.
The necessary conversion, renovation and addition measures to the existing building carefully deal with the existing building structure.
While maintaining the external appearance, the facade was renovated from an energy perspective.
On the farm side, a small expansion of the inventory took place. The cultivation shows its special performance on a small footprint of just 40 square meters. The ground floor offers space for a cloakroom and a disabled-accessible toilet; the first floor now has a larger foyer that is suitable for the intensive use of the Friedrich Naumann Hall.
The reorganization of the building strengthens its public character and makes it a central facility of the Evangelical Church in downtown Wiesbaden.
