30.10.2025 – Prof. Zvonko Turkali at the 49th Architekturquartett Ludwigsburg

The 49th Architekturquartett Ludwigsburg on 30 October 2025 once again underscored the importance of public discussion formats in communicating contemporary architecture. As an invited expert, Prof. Zvonko Turkali joined the panel and contributed to the renowned event, which once more drew a large audience of architecture enthusiasts to the Musikhalle Ludwigsburg.

Held twice a year since 1998, the Architekturquartett Ludwigsburg is regarded as the first event format of its kind—one that has since been adopted by many other cities. The series positions itself as a public, audience‑oriented engagement with the qualities of contemporary architecture and aims to introduce a broad public to current architectural developments in the Stuttgart region.

Together with Amber Sayah (architecture journalist and co‑founder of the Architekturquartett) and Sara Dahme (art mediator and cultural policy spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary group in Stuttgart), Prof. Turkali discussed current architectural projects from the region. The conversation focused on the Kunstgebäude Stuttgart (blocher partners), the Haus des Tourismus Stuttgart (asp Architekten), and the Hölderlinhaus Nürtingen (Aldinger Architekten). The projects were presented to the audience through photographs and subsequently examined in a critical dialogue.

Prof. Turkali contributed his extensive experience as an architect, professor, and member of numerous design advisory boards, offering both professional and cultural perspectives on the projects. The lively debate highlighted how architectural communication succeeds when projects are not only presented but also made comprehensible within their cultural, urban, and social contexts.
