01.02.2026 – Ceremonial Opening of the St. Nicolai Parish Center

The new St. Nicolai Parish Center officially opened on February 1, 2026, marking the culmination of a long-planned project for the congregation. Zvonko Turkali Architekten won the architectural competition for the project in 2017. Nearly nine years later, the winning design has now been realized following an extended planning and decision-making process. The opening was met with a strong sense of joy and relief, reflecting the significance of the moment for all those involved.

Together with the adjoining cooperative housing, the parish center forms an ensemble that connects church, residential use, and the surrounding neighborhood. The single-story building accommodates a hall, seminar rooms, and social spaces and is open to the congregation, residents, and the wider community. A shared courtyard provides a central place for interaction and exchange.

With its opening, the building enters active use as a venue for worship, meetings, celebrations, and everyday parish life, establishing a shared point of reference for the congregation and the neighborhood.
