Headquarter Volksbank Guetersloh eG
Due to internal restructuring measures, the Volksbank Guetersloh needed a new main branch that concentrates the bank’s entrepreneurial activities. Turkali Architekten emerged as the winner of the competition hosted in 2001. The realized building represents the first building block on the premises in the city center. It consists of two building bodies of different heights. Their orientation and mass distribution is aligned with the organization principles of the adjacent topology. The building body with five stories is positioned prominently at the intersection. All offices are located in this building. The ground floor encompasses a semi-public customer hall that stretches out over the entire building’s height and features stone flooring, oak wood board facades, and blue colored plaster.
The two-story building body oriented towards the adjacent residential development features common areas. On the ground floor it contains an event hall for up to 150 people. On the upper floor it accommodates a recreation room for employees.
The building complex encircles a public courtyard on the premises. It is located alongside the event hall and provides additional space for open-air events.
The consistent materiality choice of Trosselfels limestone for the exterior facades strengthens the impression of the building and its presence within the cityscape.
