Fraport Arena
The Fraport Arena, formerly named Ballsporthalle, was designed both for international competitions as well as for school sports and training. 5000 stand seats on all four sides of the court create an audience space, which is situated underneath a light and filigree steel construction.
The shape of the building is developed from the cross-section. The stands, which rise from the ground and the supporting framework of the roof, form an ellipse from the cross-section. The entrances of the sports hall are located on the long side of the building. On this side, the stands are lifted from the ground, providing a clear view into the interior.
