Living on the Osthafen

On behalf of the FRANK Heimbau Main/Taunus GmbH a housing complex with 39 apartments has been built. While being a massive main body of 76 meters on the ground floor, the building emerges into three buildings of 23 meters length in the upper stories. The constructional connection on the ground floor is a result to urban development enforcement orders. Between the single buildings the open space grants natural light and ventilation to secondary rooms without adhere to distance space.

Due to the strict order of windows and few facade elements, the edges of the building are well-defined. Horizontal bands connect main and minor facades as well as body and window surfaces. Single bricks are set back in order for the stonework to gain plasticity.
