Just under eight months after construction began at Waldschmidtstrasse 114 and 116 near Frankfurt Zoo, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone took place on Friday, June 2nd, 2023, at the St. Nicolai Parish construction site in Frankfurt's Ostend district.

"We are pleased with the rapid progress and hope that the coming months will also proceed without any significant accidents," Prof. Zvonko Turkali said in his speech. The Frankfurt-based architectural office had won an architectural competition in 2017 with its design for a new one-story parish hall, which is connected to the side aisle of the church and, together with the new residential building, encloses a green courtyard.  

The foundation stone was laid by the Evangelische Regionalverband Frankfurt und Offenbach, and the Wohnbaugenossenschaft in Frankfurt am Main eG, which are jointly realizing the project on the almost 2,800-square-meter site.
