House of the Protestant Church
The house of the protestant church is located in a very prominent spot in the Wiesbaden city center. It was built in the 1960s in close proximity to the former city castle, which today accommodates the Hessian Landtag, the city hall that is built in the German renaissance style, and the neo-Gothic market church that also belongs to the parish.
The distinct features of the heritage building are the delicate facade that is stylistically related to the modern era, and the far viewable Friedrich Naumann Hall, which is located on the first and second floor.
The required restructuring, renovation, and extension measures are carefully adapted to the existing building structures. The facade restoration preserved the external appearance of the building while focusing on energy-saving aspects.
A small extension towards the courtyard complements the existing building. With a floor area of only forty square meters, it proves its outstanding capabilities. On the ground floor it accommodates a cloakroom and an accessible restroom. The first floor features a larger grand foyer for the Friedrich Naumann Hall that is adequate for its frequent use.
The reorganization of the building strengthens its public relevance and turns it into a central institution of the Protestant Church in the Wiesbaden city center.
