25.09.2024 – Topping-out ceremony Jewish Academy Frankfurt
Topping-out ceremony of the Jewish Academy in Frankfurt am Main: the building owner, the Central Council of Jews in Germany, invited people to the festival for the craftsmen. “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it endures.” (Proverbs 24:3)
Central Council President Dr. Josef Schuster said at the topping-out ceremony in front of, among others, the Mayor of Frankfurt Mike Josef and the Hessian State Government Commissioner for Jewish Life and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, State Secretary Uwe Becker: “One of the Academy’s missions is also to radiate the Jewish experience and the Jewish canon of knowledge to bring it out into the social discourse. This is also what the building in the heart of Frankfurt designed by the architect Prof. Zvonko Turkali stands for.”
Prof. Zvonko Turkali recalled: “The goal of architecture is only achieved on the day it arrives in reality, when from the many sketches, Drawings and models create a building. Today is such a day. We would like to thank the many craftsmen who will complete the work here on the construction site with the utmost precision over the next few months.”
After the foreman’s verdict, bread and salt as traditional “gifts from heaven” expressed the hope that the building users will never go hungry suffer and be spared from all evil.
