Zum anderen m\u00f6chte das Geb\u00e4ude, bedingt durch seine Lage, zwischen der Stadt und einer ihrer gr\u00f6\u00dften gr\u00fcnen Oasen vermitteln. Der langgestreckte, gut proportionierte Kubus erweitert sich im Gastbereich in Richtung Palmengarten. Eine in Stufen angelegte Terrasse geht auf die Topographie und Wegef\u00fchrung des Palmengartens ein. Die Fassaden hingegen reagieren mit einem ausgewogenen Anteil geschlossener und offener Fl\u00e4chen auf die Bebauung des Westends. Eine l\u00e4ngsgespannte Decke ohne St\u00fctzen sowie eine erh\u00f6hte Lichtfuge geben die Blicke durch das Caf\u00e9 auf das umgebende Gr\u00fcn frei. Werthaltige, aber nicht unbedingt teure Materialien \u2013 beispielsweise Eichenparkett oder Naturstein in warmer Farbe und Textur \u2013 schaffen einen sinnlichen Ort der Ruhe und Begegnung. On the other hand the building is to mediate between the city and its largest green oasis.<br \\\/>The elongated well-proportioned cube extends the hospitable area in direction of the Palmengarten. The applied step-terrace answers to the topography of the Palmengarten. The facades however react to the buildings of the Westend by a balanced proportion of open and closed surfaces. A longitudinally ceiling without support as well as a light gap allow the view through the caf\\u00e9 onto the surrounding green. Recoverable but not obligatory expensive materials \\u2013 for example oak parquet or natural stone in soft colors \\u2013 create a sensual place of rest and encounter.
