Biedermeier building at Luisenstrasse 7 in Wiesbaden awarded a prize

The Biedermeier building "Luisenstrasse 7", located in the heart of Wiesbaden and renovated by Zvonko Turkali Architekten, has been awarded the Johann-Wilhelm-Lehr-Plakette 2023 of the BDA Group Wiesbaden. The award ceremony for the building’s owner and the architects took place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in the festive ambience of the Kreuzkirche in Wiesbaden.

Luisenstrasse 7 is one of a total of ten buildings to be awarded this year's Johann-Wilhelm-Lehr-Plakette. Admitted to the jury session were buildings of any size and use that were completed between 2018 and January 2023 and are in the city of Wiesbaden or the districts of Hochtaunus, Rheingau-Taunus, Main-Taunus and Limburg-Weilburg.

With this award, the BDA Hessen wants to make fine, exemplary architecture known to the public at large. In a cycle of five years, the BDA groups therefore announce four regional competitions: Joseph-Maria-Olbrich-Plakette (BDA Group Darmstadt), Martin-Elsaesser-Plakette (BDA Group Frankfurt am Main), Simon-Louis-du-Ry-Plakette (BDA Groups Kassel and Central Hesse) and Johann-Wilhelm-Lehr-Plkette (BDA Group Wiesbaden). Independent, convened juries award up to ten prizes per region – the winning buildings receive the plaque of the respective region.
