Renovation work on the existing building is progressing

Renovation work on the neoclassical old building at Senckenberganlage 11 in western Frankfurt has been ongoing for more than a year. The reason is that the building is in a much worse structural condition than originally assumed. For example, the old wooden ceilings had to be removed and replaced by brick ceilings. In terms of structural stability, various retrofits had to be carried out for ailing wall areas, and extensive high-pressure injections (HDI) had to be installed in the southern half of the building.
